Hello and welcome, my name is Carly. I am a multi-style yoga teacher in Cambridgeshire, UK.
Come explore the union of breath, body and mind with me; improve mobility and flexibility, calm the mental chatter and harness the power of your breath.
Whether you’ve never stepped on a yoga mat before, or are already passionate about your practice, I’ve got an offering for you. Please, explore my website, I hope to practise together soon.
Originally from Lincolnshire, I moved to beautiful Cambridgeshire for work. I am now a full time engineer alongside teaching yoga (so know all about the aches and pains that come with a desk job!).
Yoga has been a part of my life since my early teens, moving with me through school, university and now as a fulfilling career alongside my day job. I was originally drawn to yoga by headstands and other impressive physical poses, but soon discovered it was offering so much more. I am happy to share that I sometimes struggle with stress and overwhelm, and I hope that using my own experience I can boost other's wellbeing through yoga (I can also now stand on my head, which is pretty fun too!).
My teaching style is the perfect balance between powerful fun flows, and restorative relaxing cool downs. I like to incorporate more of yoga than just the physical, such as meditation, internal awareness and focus on the power of the breath. However, you are still likely to break a sweat after holding your high lunge for 6 breaths and I promise I don't mind if you’re cursing me when I say ‘just one more breath’ in your chair pose!
I have a few simple rules for my classes:
All are welcome.
Take a child’s pose whenever you need.
Close your eyes whenever you want.
Do what you can to enjoy every moment, because you are here for you, not for me.
As long as you leave your mat feeling refreshed and relaxed, I'm happy!
Random Facts about Me:
I can snowboard (not amazingly well, but I get down the slopes!)
I have a Degree in Mathematics and a Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering
I once ran a half-marathon… never again!
The only exercise I enjoy outside of yoga is pole fitness. I even competed in a couple of beginner competitions while at university.
Qualifications: 200hr Multi-Style Yoga Teacher Training, 40hr Prenatal Yoga Teacher Training, 40 hr Yoga Nidra Training.
